Recruitment

I have worked for a wide range of businesses over many years and have recruited in all disciplines. After university, I joined Marks and Spencer and worked in human resources, both in stores and head office. I was increasingly involved in recruitment for M and S, recruiting graduates and managers and staff for stores. I was responsible for 800 staff in one store (I didn't recruit them all!) and I recruited and trained (as part of a team) the staff for the company's largest new store development.

At Douglas Llambias Associates who specialise in accountancy and financial recruitment, I recruited over a full range from newly qualified accountants to Finance Directors. I set up a new legal recruitment department at the company and also developed a careers advisory division and outplacement services. I became a Director and Deputy Managing Director after 4 years.

I have been working as a freelance recruitment specialist and career coach for over 15 years now and there are probably not many areas of business that I have not been involved in. I still work a lot with finance directors and lawyers. My recent work includes extensive work in the retail sector and with small businesses, including a number of farm shops.
